We are now looking for an engaged and experienced childcare worker/caregiver for Nygårdens Preschool. If you are a childcare worker, teaching assistant, support assistant – or have other relevant experience working with children who need support – you are warmly welcome to apply.

In this role, we are looking for someone who thrives in a position where part of the work involves providing extra support based on individual children's needs, while also having the ability to work with the children's group as a whole. The role is important and requires professional competence, a relational approach, and the ability to create security and clarity in daily life.

You will be part of a work team and work within a children's group, with a special focus on:

• Contributing to predictability, structure, and security in education and care
• Supporting children's communication, interaction, and participation, as well as adapting responses and learning environments based on the children's different conditions
• Collaborating closely with colleagues and contributing strategies that strengthen both the individual and the group

Working hours are scheduled between 06:00–18:00.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working in preschool or other school activities
• Has experience meeting children who need extra adjustments and support
• Has good knowledge of NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) and can translate this knowledge into practical work in the daily life of the preschool
• Has very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Education as a childcare worker, teaching assistant, or support assistant is meritorious but not a requirement. Your experience and ability to create security and structure – both for the individual and the children's group – weigh heavily.

As a person, you are secure, sensitive, and responsible. You have good teamwork skills and thrive in a role where relationships, clarity, and stability are crucial. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment type: Fixed-term contract 100% from 2026-08-10 to 2027-01-06, with the possibility of extension.

Your new workplace

Nygårdens Preschool is a completely new preschool in Lexby. The preschool has space for 6 departments. From autumn, there will be 3–4 departments operating, and from January, an additional 2 departments will start operating only during the spring. Together with the preschool in Jonsered, we form a preschool area.

The Education Administration is responsible for the municipality's childcare and educational activities, from preschool and after-school care to preschool class, comprehensive school, adapted school, upper secondary school, adult education, and various commissioned training programs. Our vision is that every student leaves school rich in knowledge and convinced of their ability to create their future together with others. All students should also remember their school time as safe, fun, and educational. The various operations of the Education Administration have a clear common focus on the conditions for all children and students to complete their studies.
