About the role

You work with our students in the adapted primary school (special school for students with intellectual disabilities) who study according to subjects and/or subject areas in grades 1-9. Here you will teach music and work in our leisure-time center (fritidshem). The leisure-time center is located adjacent to the adapted primary school classrooms, which is an advantage for both students and staff. We are currently undergoing an reorganization of the leisure-time activities at the school, and you have great opportunities to help shape how we will work going forward.

Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementation, follow-up, and documentation of teaching in both the leisure-time center and school. You design the pedagogical activities so that each individual student's unique prerequisites and abilities are taken advantage of and challenged based on the leisure-time center's mission. For this, you have both individual planning time and planning together with colleagues.

At Frejaskolan, we constantly work on developing both our leisure-time activities and break-time activities. For this development work, there is a specific pedagogical meeting time every week. In our operations, we focus on collegial learning, and you should have an interest and commitment to this. We expect you to actively contribute to the development of our operations and to enjoy working in a learning organization.

About Frejaskolan

Frejaskolan is a primary school (grades F-9) and an adapted primary school (grades 1-9) with an associated leisure-time center. The school is beautifully located in Västra Frölunda, close to both nature and the sea. The school's location also makes it easy to reach other parts of the city conveniently by public transport. The schoolyard, which is 33,000 square meters, invites to many possibilities for play and activities. Frejaskolan has just over 600 students and 100 employees.

At Frejaskolan, experienced educators work, and the goal of the operations is to give all students good knowledge and skills in a secure and stimulating environment. Frejaskolan focuses on language-developing work, and we are working on developing our break-time activities. We have a large, nice library and a librarian who has activities and operations directed at both school and leisure-time. The school also has a large student health team that one can get support and help from when needed.

Qualifications

Formal competencies:

We are looking for you who are educated and certified as a leisure-time center teacher with the qualification to teach music. You also have a special education degree with a focus on intellectual disability, alternatively experience of teaching students in need of support, and are interested in educating yourself as a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disability.

You can express yourself fluently in Swedish in both speech and writing.
