About Lyckeskolan
In the autumn of 2021, Lyckeskolan opened, integrating the adapted primary school with the regular primary school. The school is designed to offer all students an inspiring and secure learning environment. We find security in our own home area on the first floor, where most of our teaching takes place. We also have opportunities for sensory-based learning based on different themes in our four sensory rooms. We find inspiration in the school's subject-specific rooms for practical-aesthetic subjects such as music, home economics, crafts, the two sports halls, and the media center, which forms the heart of the school.
We work from an inclusive mindset where students within subjects and subject areas learn together based on their abilities. Our priority goal areas are language development and sensory-based pedagogy, and we constantly work on developing teaching for students with intellectual disabilities. The adapted primary school is a growing school form in Marks Municipality, and there are good opportunities for participation in shaping the future adapted primary school. Take the chance to work at Lyckeskolan's adapted primary school. Together, we lay a good foundation for the students' future!
1 position(s).
Responsibilities
You will primarily work with students in the adapted primary school studying subject areas. The work is carried out in close collaboration with educators and student assistants regarding students with intellectual disabilities, often in combination with other disabilities. You are responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating teaching based on current regulatory documents, both independently and together with colleagues.
You create a secure and developmental learning environment where every student is given the prerequisites to reach their full potential based on their individual needs. Teaching is conducted in varied learning environments, such as classrooms, urban environments, and forests, which requires that you feel secure and comfortable in different settings.
We place great emphasis on a professional attitude that creates security and trust. Personal suitability and the ability to adapt teaching and interaction to each student's prerequisites are therefore important qualities. You see each student's opportunities and support their development towards increased independence and participation.
In the adapted primary school, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is used extensively, for example, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), visual supports, and speech maps.
Qualifications
You who apply must have a teacher's license. A special education degree with a focus on intellectual disabilities is meritorious, as is a license in more subjects.
Additionally, you must have the ability to:
- be flexible and solution-focused.
- be sensitive regarding the student's requirement level and receptiveness to learning.
- collaborate and build relationships with colleagues, parents, and students.
- knowledge of PECS, epilepsy, and autism is meritorious.
You who are waiting for your license are also welcome to apply for the position.
