Description
Torpaskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with approximately 500 students and 55 staff members. The school is located in the former district of Örgryte-Härlanda with good public transport connections. Together, we work to develop the operations based on the three areas of emphasis established within the Primary Education Administration. We have four work teams at the school covering the different stages as well as our after-school activities. There is a good atmosphere within the staff group and laughter is close at hand in daily work. There is a drive to develop teaching and a desire to do a good job with the students. In our collegial professional development work, we place great emphasis on the red thread from a F-9 perspective. Our work is based on our core values: Joy, Responsibility, and Pride.
Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for a special needs teacher to support our students and teachers at the school so that they can develop to their full potential. As a special needs teacher, you work with a focus on student learning in grades 4-6, with a particular focus on students in need of adjustments, short-term intensive interventions, and special support. You assist in mapping out students' needs and in pedagogical assessments with the aim of creating a good learning environment that supports all students' development towards the goals of education. You identify opportunities and reduce obstacles in the school's learning environment, as well as obstacles at the organizational, group, and individual levels. Working with issues of inclusion and core values is a natural part of your work. You are part of the school's student health team and are expected to contribute experience and competence to keep the focus on learning and development during the student health team's work and meetings. The student health team also includes special needs teachers for grades 4-6 and 7-9, as well as a special educator with a broader responsibility. This allows us to create a strong team around the pedagogical support for students who need it.
In our work, we have a clear student focus that places knowledge and skills in a context where internal motivation, co-creation, and a desire to learn are important ingredients. Together, we create a work environment where students and employees are involved. We work to give our students the best prerequisites, and now we are looking for you who want to be part of and share our development journey.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a teaching license who is trained as a special needs teacher. You have experience working with teaching and have good communication skills. The role requires that you can interact with students, educators, and guardians, and share the school's core values as expressed in our steering documents.
It is important that you have a focus on the individual, group, and organizational levels and want to work for a school permeated by security and study peace. The role we are looking for involves both working with students and being a sounding board and support for the educators. By thinking that anything is possible, you always want to find the different entry points so that every student succeeds in their education. You see that collaboration with the home is important and provides security so that the student succeeds in their education.
You have an inclusive perspective and the ability to see how the individual student's needs can best be met. You see development work as a natural part of the teaching job and want to collaborate with the school's other educators. You are goal- and result-oriented, have good leadership qualities, and have a holistic view. Through a conscious approach, you create security, trust, and good relationships. You have the ability to be a qualified conversation partner in pedagogical matters for colleagues and guardians.
