The Department of Culture has approximately 800 employees who primarily work in libraries, cultural centers, museums, and other cultural activities.

About the position

Culture House Bergsjön is today a vibrant meeting place for both the local community and visitors from across the city. We are now looking for hosts who want to help continue developing the operations together with your colleagues and other actors in the area for our children and young people.

In this role, you work closely with the children and young people who visit the facility. You enable a meaningful leisure time through complementary low-threshold activities related to reading, art, and culture, both on-site at the cultural center and in collaboration with others.

You are a secure adult who builds meaningful relationships by being present, listening, and showing interest. You contribute to an environment where more people feel welcome. An important part of the job is also building and maintaining relationships with other promoting activities in the area – the school as an arena, other meeting places for young people, and the Social Services' Individual and Family Care (IOF).

The positions are fixed-term appointments at 50% until the turn of the year, with work primarily in the evenings and on weekends when the activity is most active. We may also hire some staff on hourly contracts, working a few hours a week. This allows the roles to be combined with studies or another job. The focus of the positions is to be there for the children and young people who visit the cultural center.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have

• Education within the Child and Youth Program at the upper secondary school or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position
• Experience working with children and young people in areas with socioeconomic challenges
• Ability to communicate clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you have

• Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English
• Local knowledge of the area
• Experience collaborating with schools, social services, or associations
