Strong research and attractive education attract researchers and students from all over the world. With new knowledge and perspectives, the University of Gothenburg contributes to a better future.
ICT Pedagogue to the IT Unit – Do you want to be the bridge between technology and everyday life?
We are looking for two ICT Pedagogues who want to help the University of Gothenburg's employees get more out of the digital tools they use every day. This role is not a traditional technical trainer position, but a pedagogical and operationally close function where you create understanding for both the tools and the users' needs.
Responsibilities
You are responsible for planning, implementing, and managing parts of the university's internal training initiatives regarding digital tools and working methods. The role involves both operational implementation and long-term responsibility for training materials and initiatives.
Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and conducting training sessions and workshops for employees and students across the university
- Conducting needs analyses in collaboration with core operations and the IT Unit
- Managing and developing training materials as tools are updated
- Producing self-study resources in various formats: guides, instructional videos, and nanolearning flows
- Collaborating with the IT Unit's technical specialists when developing advanced content
- Contributing to the unit's and the university's work on digitalization and change management
- Monitoring developments in digital tools, AI, and working methods
Examples of training that this role is expected to be responsible for include:
- Tips and tricks in Outlook, rules, calendar, and collaboration
- SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams – when to use what?
- Organized teamwork with Kanban boards, To Do, and Teams
- Introduction to language models and AI in the workplace
- Automation with Power Automate – create simple flows without coding
Qualifications
We place great emphasis on personal qualities and are looking for someone who is pedagogical and has a natural ability to adapt messages to the target audience. You can make the complex concrete without making it boring. You are curious about technological development but always start from the real benefit for the user. The role involves great freedom under responsibility, so we are looking for someone who can independently identify needs, take initiative, and drive the work forward. You are accustomed to turning ideas and needs into concrete activities and results. At the same time, collaboration with technical specialists and operations is a natural part of your working style.
To succeed in the role, you need knowledge and experience from both pedagogy and the IT field. We expect you to have the following qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary education at minimum in IT, informatics, pedagogy, or other education and/or experience that the employer considers equivalent.
- Relevant education complemented by education and/or relevant documented experience/competence in IT, informatics, or pedagogy. For example, you have education in pedagogy and complementary education and/or relevant documented experience/competence in IT/informatics, or vice versa: education in IT and complementary education in pedagogy.
- Experience in training, mentoring, or guiding employees in the use of digital tools and working methods.
- Good experience with digital collaboration tools, such as Microsoft 365, Nextcloud, and similar solutions, as well as the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new tools and working methods.
- Documented experience with AI-based tools, such as ChatGPT or Copilot, to streamline work processes, create materials, or support business development.
- Several years of documented experience (three years within the last five years) in planning and conducting training, as well as creating, structuring, and maintaining training and support materials.
- Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
The following are considered meritorious:
- Experience working with digitalization, change management, or agile working methods.
- Experience building flows in Power Automate or similar automation tools.
- Experience in creating nanolearning or e-learning.
- Familiarity and experience working with digital accessibility in educational materials or digital learning resources.
- Experience working within universities, higher education institutions, or other public authorities.
