Älvegårdsskolan AGR is a small grades 1-9 school where students study both subjects and subject areas. This autumn, we will start with two classes. We are now looking for two student assistants who want to contribute to and develop our operations.

The school is located between the sea and the forest in Torslanda, surrounded by beautiful natural areas. Älvegårdsskolan AGR belongs to the school area Hisingen 12, which also includes Lillebyskolan. Lillebyskolan and Älvegårdsskolan are located close to each other.

The leadership team in the school area consists of a principal and two deputy principals. Around our students is a large staff group – teachers and student assistants. There is a student health team with a school nurse, psychologist, counselor, and special education teacher.

When the school is fully established in a few years, it will consist of 5 classes for students with intellectual disabilities.

Job Responsibilities

As a student assistant, your task is to prevent and bridge difficulties that students encounter during the school day. You work close to the students, providing pedagogical, social, physical, and psychological support together with the teacher and the work team, with the aim of facilitating the student's learning regarding knowledge, self-confidence, and responsibility. The students follow curriculum plans in subjects or subject areas.

The work with us requires close collaboration with the students' guardians, colleagues, and other external actors who are important for the students' health and development. The position also includes pedagogical support to students in the classroom and the after-school center.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a high school education with further education in the field. You should have knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), preferably through training. You must also have at least 6 months of experience in special needs education (adapted primary school). It is an advantage if you have experience working with children with intellectual disabilities and autism diagnoses.

As a person, you have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You proceed from the equal value of all people and create a good atmosphere in interactions. You adapt easily to changed conditions and new information. Furthermore, you are calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations.
