to apply for the job
We are currently looking for you who want to become part of our team and work as a personal assistant for our 13-year-old client in Nya Hovås, Gothenburg.
The position is part-time, starting this summer and continuing as a scheduled role from autumn. Working hours include mornings, evenings, nights (with waiting time), and weekends. It is important that you are available for all shifts.
What does this role involve?
You should be a cheerful and positive person with a twinkle in your eye. Previous experience in personal assistance or other care and support professions is meritorious but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you have the right personality to work well with the client. You must be attentive, flexible, and responsible.
The client is deaf and communicates using sign language. Therefore, knowledge of sign language or the ability to use signs as support is meritorious. However, the most important thing is that you have an interest in communication and a willingness to learn.
In the role, you will receive instructions from the client's mother. Since she does not use sign language, you need to be able to hear and process verbal instructions from her.
Examples of tasks include: help with meals, transfers, personal hygiene, play and fun, accompanying the client to activities, and more.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is engaged, respectful, and attentive. We appreciate that you have great patience and the ability to be personal while acting professionally.
We would like you to:
- have a genuine interest in helping others.
- have an interest in learning sign language and be able to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues, relatives, and the operations manager.
- have good physical fitness.
- the client prefers a female applicant.
- have previous experience as a personal assistant or similar.
