Sunnersberg Parish, located on Kålland-Kållandsö north of Lidköping in the Diocese of Skara, is seeking a priest for a parish position. We strive to be relevant to people of all ages and in different life situations. We aim to create a community where the individual meets other people, themselves, and God.

Responsibilities

The position is broad and varied, with tasks directed at all age groups and different parts of parish life. You will have the opportunity to shape the content to some extent based on your own interests and competencies. There is both opportunity and expectation that you, as a priest, wish to contribute to the development of the operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Worship services and church ceremonies
• Work with confirmands
• Special responsibility for the Kållandsö part of the parish

Qualifications

• Ordained priest according to the Church of Sweden's order and securely anchored in the Church of Sweden's faith, doctrine, and life
• Good experience of working in parish activities
• Good ability to communicate and collaborate with people of all ages
• Openness to ecumenism
• Experience working both independently and in teams
• Digital competence and familiarity with using IT in daily work

About Sunnersberg Parish

The parish covers both urban areas and the countryside. The proximity to Lake Vänern, Läckö Castle, and Spiken makes the area attractive for both permanent residents and summer visitors. The church forms an important part of local life by offering meeting places for all ages. Approximately two-thirds of the residents in the area are members of the Church of Sweden.

The parish has a rich church tradition, where six of the eight churches have roots in the 12th century. Five churches are kept open daily during the summer, and all are used regularly for worship services and church ceremonies. Mass is celebrated every Sunday at Kyrkans gård–Lockörn, along with another service in one of the parish's churches or parish halls.

Parish facilities are located in Otterstad, Sunnersberg, and at Kyrkans gård–Lockörn, where the office and preschool are also situated. The staff group consists of about 30 employees, including preschool staff and church caretakers. The economy is sound, and there is voluntary engagement, although the average age is relatively high. Collaboration takes place with neighboring parishes and deaneries, including in confirmand activities, discussion groups, baptism bookings, and property matters.
