What can we offer you?

We are currently looking for a School Counselor who wants to be part of our team at Dotorpsskolan. You will be part of the school's student health team, where work with both individual students and groups is in focus.

Documentation, mapping, conversations, and supervision of colleagues are the main tasks.

Your mission as a School Counselor is to bring a psychosocial perspective into the school to contribute to students' good psychosocial health, which in turn helps students achieve academic goals as well as thrive and feel well. At our school, your relational work with the students is important. Therefore, you work to build relationships with all students and are present in the students' daily lives (breaks, meals) to conduct preventive relational work. You work with individual students, lead groups of students, and also work with their parents/guardians.

You actively drive the work of the school's student health team regarding school attendance, focusing on preventive and remedial measures. You collaborate with external actors such as social services, field activities, and culture and leisure activities. You contact other authorities when necessary and document and write mappings.

You also work with supervision of the school's other staff and participate in the student health team together with the principal, special education needs coordinator, special teacher, school nurse, and school psychologist.

Dotorpsskolan is a school covering grades F-6 and after-school care, with approximately 220 students and competent school and leisure staff. The school is located in a residential area surrounded by both villas and apartment areas. There is a large, lovely schoolyard with play areas and football fields around the entire school area. Within walking distance, there is an ice hall, a swimming pool, and the nature area of Fåraberget.

The school is characterized by joy of work, community, and collegial problem-focused collaboration. We believe in creating good relationships to develop students' learning and social competence, but also for each other's development and good contact with guardians.

What are we looking for in you?

We are looking for you with a degree in social work or equivalent education. We would appreciate if you have previous experience working with children and young people. You have in-depth competence regarding psychosocial factors and see the student in their entire social context.

For the position, it is required that you are self-initiating and can take your own initiatives within the counselor's assignment. For us, good dynamics in our work groups are important, so we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Information

The position is 100% and is a one-year fixed-term contract starting September 1, 2026. The position may be extended or potentially converted into a permanent position. Further information will be provided during a potential interview.

Selection will be made on an ongoing basis, and interviews may be held during the application period.
