At Grimaskolan, we are now looking for an engaged and curious teaching assistant who can be part of our school's path forward towards our high goals. Are you also a secure person who values good relationships? Don't hesitate to submit your application today!
What we offer you
We offer you a job in a school characterized by high demands on both our students and our staff, as well as supporting and challenging each other to reach even further. Here, you will work in pleasant premises in a nature-friendly environment. As a teaching assistant, you primarily work with one student but also support other students and teachers where needed.
About us
Grimaskolan is a school for grades 6-9, consisting of 16 classes plus one adapted primary school class. The school has a total of approximately 450 students. Each grade forms a work team and collaborates around the students' development and needs. We are a school located in eastern Upplands Väsby with good access to nature, leisure activities, and active associations.
About the position
The duties will primarily involve supporting an individual student in grade 8, but you will also support other activities where there is a need. You provide support and stimulation based on the student's specific conditions and promote development and independence. This may, for example, involve support with reading and writing difficulties where you sometimes need to help with note-taking.
The teaching assistant position is at approximately 70% at Grimaskolan. The remaining 30% may potentially be placed at another school between approximately 14:00-16:30.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for someone who:
To succeed in the role, you have a high level of responsibility and a passion for working with students with special needs. We also see that you can work independently and take initiative based on emerging situations. Furthermore, you work calmly and systematically with a low-affective approach, as well as a positive and inclusive attitude towards students, colleagues, and guardians.
You are secure and stable, which for us means that you handle stress in a constructive way. You feel secure in handling emerging situations where it is sometimes necessary to make quick but well-thought-out decisions. You have the courage to speak up when things go wrong and distinguish between facts and personal matters. You are relationship-building and considerate, meaning you easily create new contacts, put yourself in others' situations, listen, understand, and show consideration.
We warmly welcome your application!
