The Mother Tongue and Reception of Newly Arrived Pupils Unit receives newly arrived pupils, organizes study guidance in the mother tongue and mother tongue instruction for approximately 1,900 pupils from municipal and independent primary and secondary schools in Täby Municipality. We work professionally with the pupil in focus, based on the democratic values of the Swedish school system. Your tasks involve acting as a link between the home, the school, and the unit. You use your mother tongue when teaching the mother tongue subject and in study guidance. You participate in the reception conversation when we meet newly arrived pupils.

As a mother tongue teacher, you travel to different schools. It is possible to travel by public transport between schools, but having access to your own car makes the commute easier.

Who are you?

We want you, as the applicant for this position:

• have Icelandic as your mother tongue
• express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• have teacher training or university-level education
• have experience with bilingual education
• are well acquainted with the regulatory documents that apply to education and can translate these into meaningful learning

As a person, you are responsible, structured, have a holistic view, and a professional approach. With commitment and the ability to work both independently and in a team, you find solutions to provide education for all your pupils under current conditions. We use digital tools in our work, and we would appreciate it if you were curious and experienced with IT.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and teamwork skills.

Teaching certification is desirable and considered an advantage.
