What we offer you
Bålbroskolan is a newly built school for grades Pre-K to 3, featuring four year-group homogeneous work teams. Our intention is for a staff group to largely follow the students from Pre-K through Grade 3. You will be part of a work team with after-school care and school staff, supporting each other in the various operational tasks to provide students with everything they need to succeed in their schooling. The work is carried out jointly by the department's staff and is led by an after-school teacher who ensures that the intentions of the curriculum are followed. We place great emphasis on everyone in the department taking joint responsibility for the mission.
You have planning time every week with the department, a morning meeting once a week with school and after-school care, and an evening meeting every month where time is dedicated to school and after-school care, as well as after-school care only.
We offer a wide range of benefits related to activities, well-being, insurance, pension, and vacation: Our Benefits (#).
The Role
As a Childcare Assistant at Bålbroskolan, you work with students from a full-day perspective, where after-school time and the school day complement each other. You are part of the child's success, progress, and well-being. You are involved in planning, implementing, developing, and following up on teaching in the school based on the needs of the child group, the after-school care's mission according to Lgr 22, and the administration's quality work.
You also actively contribute to safe, fun, and developmental breaks. The role implies that you sometimes work in the classroom and support teaching and individual student needs. You also work in the after-school care's department and, together with colleagues, ensure that students receive what the after-school care's mission, according to regulatory documents, intends for them.
The work requires collaboration with all competencies at the school, high expectations of broad responsibility, and a student perspective based on the curriculum's intentions that value every child's best interests. The after-school care is open from 06:00–18:00. We have evening meetings every month where we work until 18:30. Your schedule may vary within the entire opening hours.
Challenges and Opportunities
Being a large staff in a work team can be both a challenge and a strength. You need to enjoy working together with others to achieve common goals and thrive in your work at Bålbroskolan. You will gain a work community and an after-school care that cares about students getting the basics to succeed throughout their schooling and offering them opportunities for lifelong learning and well-being. Being part of that journey and making an impact is, we believe, the best work you can do.
