About Ekillaskolan

The Education Administration is responsible for all operations within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary schools, leisure centers, high schools, and adult education.

Ekillaskolan is a 7th–9th-grade school in Märsta where we emphasize every student's right to receive instruction at a level adapted to them. Here, knowledge, collaboration, and student development are at the center. Through dedicated staff and a shared focus on learning, we create good conditions for every student to succeed, grow, and develop based on their own needs and prerequisites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ekillaskolan is looking for a school counselor for our wonderful school for students in grades 7-9. You will join a school full of students with different backgrounds that enrich us in our learning.

We are proud of our school and we are on an exciting development journey. Ekillaskolan offers you as a school counselor a great workplace in a wonderful student health team where you are an important puzzle piece. Together with other professions at the school and within the student health team, you will work preventively and health-promotingly at the individual, group, and organizational levels. To thrive with us, you have a genuine interest and willingness to support students in reaching their school goals from an inclusive approach.

You contribute from your profession in group discussions and individual conversations and take part in observations and interventions needed in the school to work together towards our goals.

Working in the student health team means having close collaboration with teachers and guardians. You are present as a supportive school counselor, in collaboration with others in the same function, and are also an important part of our smaller units. The school has the privilege of having two school counselors in the student health team.

You work close to the students at both group and individual levels and are responsible for driving and following up on student attendance. In collaboration with educators, you create a good plan for this work. You are a secure person who finds it easy to work in both small and large groups of students and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a social work degree or equivalent higher education. You have documented knowledge and experience from supporting work with young people. You also have knowledge and experience of collaborating with other functions and authorities within social services and the region. It is important that you have the ability to work independently with a holistic perspective on the operations, and you are expected to have a good ability to collaborate in a team. If you have previous experience as a school counselor, this is meritorious.

Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities such as social competence, flexibility, and collaboration skills. You take an active place in social contexts and have good contact with students where they are, and have good professional relationships with both students and guardians. Your collaborations are characterized by a will and drive for every student to succeed. You have the ability to have good collaborations through a flat-hierarchy focus on the common goal. For you, it is important to work according to a clear process, organize, and plan your work well.

In addition to collaboration within the school, it includes collaboration with other authorities and actors outside the school, such as Social Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), and other parts of our municipal operations that we collaborate with within the municipality. You are part of a team of school counselors who have regular professional meetings with networks with the student health team's other professions jointly to support each other. The work requires high collaboration skills, good leadership qualities, and good documentation habits.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: Aug 10th or according to agreement.
