Your Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Study Support Tutor in Swahili for distance education during the 2026/2027 school year. The assignment involves a small group of students with good opportunities for individualized work and close contact with the students. The teaching is conducted entirely digitally.

As a Study Support Tutor in Swahili, you support students in their knowledge development through mother-tongue study support. You collaborate with responsible teachers and contribute to students achieving their knowledge goals.

The assignment covers three students (two in grade 9 and one in grade 7) and is organized as follows:

• 4 lessons per week of 40 minutes each
• One individual lesson per student per week
• One joint group lesson per week

The role includes:

• Planning, conducting, and following up on study support in Swahili
• Adapting teaching to the student's needs and knowledge level
• Supporting students' learning in various subjects by explaining concepts and content in their mother tongue
• Collaborating with teaching teachers and contributing to students' goal achievement
• Using digital tools for teaching and communication

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with good knowledge of Swahili and preferably experience working with primary school students.

We would like you to:

• Have Swahili as a mother tongue or equivalent very good language skills
• Have experience in study support, teaching, or pedagogical work
• Have a good understanding of the Swedish school system and its governing documents
• Be accustomed to working digitally and leading distance education
• Be responsible, structured, and have good collaboration skills
• Have a good ability to motivate and build trust with students

It is an advantage if you have pedagogical education or experience working with multilingual students.
