Employment Consultant for New Group Operations in Järfälla

The Social Administration in Järfälla Municipality is responsible for social services, elderly care, support for persons with disabilities, as well as individual and family care. The administration works to provide support and assistance to children, young people, adults, and families based on their needs and in accordance with the Social Services Act.

The Employment Unit is part of the Social Administration and works to strengthen and support individuals who are outside the labor market. We offer individually tailored measures, coordinate the municipality's summer jobs, and collaborate closely with both internal and external actors. The unit is led by the Employment Manager and consists of 15 dedicated employees.

Due to new legislation coming into effect this summer, we are now developing our operations and are looking for two Employment Consultants to launch, shape, and drive a new group activity focused on motivation, strengthened self-confidence, knowledge of the labor market, and pathways toward work or studies. The target group is individuals receiving financial assistance who need support to achieve self-sufficiency. In addition to the group activities, you will also work individually with a number of participants to find individual solutions together with the participant, with the aim of finding pathways to self-sufficiency.

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will have a specific assignment: to build and lead a group activity together with a colleague that strengthens participants' motivation, work-life knowledge, and hope for the future. The assignment is to design, organize, and continuously develop the work to create a safe place where participants receive support to approach the labor market through:

  • Empowering and motivating group meetings
  • Practical exercises and work-life-oriented moments
  • Conversations and reflection both individually and in groups
  • Study visits and lectures by external actors

You will work closely with the unit's other employment consultants to ensure that group interventions are relevant, coordinated, and contribute to the individual's development. The position involves varied and pedagogical work where you meet participants with different backgrounds and prerequisites. The role also entails responsibility for a number of individual cases where you work solution-oriented and together with participants find ways forward to achieve self-sufficiency. The assignment includes:

  • Collaboration with social secretaries, the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), and employers
  • Establishing contacts with local business and other collaboration partners who can contribute to the content of the group activity
  • Documentation and follow-up of participants' development
  • Being a positive, driving force in the development of our group activity

Qualifications and Merits

Requirements:

  • You have completed a university education in pedagogical work, occupational therapy, social work, or a similar field.
  • You have experience working with social work/labor market issues or pedagogical work.
  • You have experience meeting people in complex life situations and experience engaging and motivating participants with varying backgrounds, language levels, and experience.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).

Merits:

  • Knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing), Supported Employment, and BIP (Behavioral Intervention Planning).
  • Work within the Social Administration's area of operations.
  • Experience in outward-facing work or leading group activities.

As an employment consultant, you are a social and outgoing person who has an easy time making new contacts. Your most important tool is your optimism and belief in people's abilities. You drive your work forward with engagement and enjoy both designing and developing your work methods.

Since the work involves documentation responsibility, it requires good computer skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.
