Bona Folk High School is looking for a teaching assistant who wants to be close to the participants' learning – in the classroom, digitally, and in the many small steps forward in everyday life.

One of our teaching assistants at the upper secondary level is continuing their studies, and we are now looking for you who want to become part of Bona's work with participants in the general course. The position is 75–100%, depending on the needs of the operation and your competence. The start date is August 2026 or as agreed.

About the role

As a teaching assistant at Bona, you are an important part of the participants' learning environment. You work closely with teachers and participants and contribute to creating structure, security, accessibility, and context in the studies.

The work may involve supporting participants in their ongoing learning, helping to clarify tasks and work processes, being available in digital environments, tracking attendance and progress, supporting practical moments, and helping participants find effective strategies for their studies. You also have mentoring responsibility for a group together with a teacher.

You do not work alongside learning, but right in the middle of it.

Our way of working

At Bona, we work thematically. This means that learning is often built around questions, contexts, and themes where several subjects meet. Participants work with societal issues, language, history, religion, mathematics, democracy, culture, media, AI, and current global issues in a way that creates meaning and wholeness.

We use digital environments for communication, course structure, guidance, follow-up, and collaborative learning. As a teaching assistant, you therefore need to be comfortable with digital environments and prepared to work in several different systems and contexts. This involves both being able to support participants in their digital study environment and being able to document, communicate, follow up, and collaborate digitally yourself.

AI is a natural part of our development work and is used as support for reflection, language, structure, analysis, and independence. You do not need to be an AI expert, but you need to be willing to try, learn, and use new tools as part of the work.

We are looking for you who

  • enjoy working close to young adults and adult participants
  • have a good ability to build relationships, trust, and clarity
  • can support participants in understanding tasks, planning their work, and moving forward
  • are comfortable with digital environments and can work in several different systems
  • can support participants in digital learning environments
  • are willing to learn new digital tools and working methods
  • are curious about AI as a support in learning
  • can collaborate closely with teachers, mentors, and other colleagues
  • have patience, flexibility, and the ability to see what is needed in the moment
  • can contribute to study peace, structure, and community
  • have good knowledge of Swedish and preferably also English

Experience from folk high schools, adult education, support work, social pedagogical work, digital learning, or work with young adults is meritorious. Personal suitability will weigh heavily.

We offer

With us, you become part of a small and committed folk high school with a strong desire for development. We work close to the participants and build education where knowledge, self-image, and hope for the future are connected.

You get colleagues who like to think together, try new things, and take responsibility for the whole. The role of teaching assistant is important in our way of working, because much of the decisive support happens in everyday life: in conversations, in follow-ups, in digital environments, and in the participant's next possible step. We work on-site and digitally.

The extent of the position is 75–100%.

Application

Send your application with CV and cover letter to [email protected]

Please tell us why you want to work as a teaching assistant at a folk high school, what experience you have of supporting people in learning, and how you have worked in digital environments previously.

Application deadline: 2026-07-30

Start date: August 2026 or as agreed

Extent: 75–100%

Workplace: Bona Folk High School, Motala / digital learning environments according to the operation's setup
