Do you want to work with outdoor pedagogy in a vibrant, multicultural environment? We are now looking for a preschool teacher for Schiörlins gata 2 in Vallastaden. Here you will have 10 wonderful colleagues, a learning approach based on a playful and exploratory working method, and close cooperation with Friluftsfrämjandet (The Swedish Association for Outdoor Education).

Your responsibilities

As a preschool teacher, your starting point is to have overall pedagogical responsibility in the preschool. You are expected to lead and distribute the pedagogical work within the team while contributing to creating collegial learning. The team should work together to plan, teach, document, and evaluate the content of the operations based on the preschool curriculum and other regulatory documents.

As a preschool teacher, you promote every child's development and learning based on their interests, experiences, and needs. You create curiosity and a desire to learn, both during planned activities and spontaneous moments.

In your role, there is close cooperation with colleagues and guardians, as well as any contacts with other actors regarding the child.

Your workplace

The Preschool Area Lambohov 2 consists of six preschools with a rich variety. Geographically, we stretch from the modern Vallastaden to the rural idyll in Skeda Udde. Our units vary in size from small preschools with one department to units with three departments. This breadth gives us dynamism and the opportunity to offer different types of pedagogical environments.

We are currently looking for an employee for our preschool at Schiörlins gata 2, located in the innovative Vallastaden. Here you will meet:

• A welcoming and multicultural environment: Due to our close proximity to the university, we have a lovely international character with children from many different nationalities. This provides fantastic cultural variation in everyday life.
• Wonderful community: The preschool has 3 departments with a total of approx. 63 children and an engaged team of around 10 employees.
• Cooking from scratch: We have our own chef on-site who prepares delicious and nutritious food from scratch, which spreads a lovely home-like feeling in the preschool.
• A strong outdoor pedagogical profile: We love outdoor play and exploring nature! We have our own garden and cooperate closely with Friluftsfrämjandet, among others through our Mulle groups. Here, much is about experiencing, discovering, and investigating together with the children in the outdoor environment.

• A special educator and two senior preschool teachers who drive the pedagogical development work together with the management team.

You who apply

We are primarily looking for you who have a preschool teacher license. Secondly, we look for you with a certificate of completion from a preschool teacher education. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a preschool teacher.

It is a requirement that you, as an applicant, have experience of working with children in a curriculum-regulated preschool through practice, as an employee, or voluntarily. It is meritorious if you have worked for at least one year in a curriculum-regulated preschool where you have worked with planning and teaching based on the curriculum. It is also meritorious if you have experience of leading a preschool operation, as well as experience of working with children in need of special support.

You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lpfö18), you should organize and carry out the work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

In your role as a preschool teacher, you create good relationships and cooperate well with children, colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a listening manner in teaching and the preschool's daily life. You lead the work with both children and colleagues through motivation, engagement, and participation. The role also means that you, together with your colleagues, should work with the current goals and quality standards for the preschool.
