Your responsibilities

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the national curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher for grades 7–9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and other stakeholders in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for every student. You base your work on the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of various professions.

This position involves teaching in wood and metal crafts (slöjd) as well as another subject in grades 7–9, along with mentorship.

Your workplace

Linghemsskolan is a smaller secondary school located a bit outside Linköping. You can easily commute to the school by train or car, where you also have free parking next to the school building. Approximately 240 students in grades 7–9 attend the school, and we have about 35 employees. During the 2026/2027 school year, Linghemsskolan is evacuated, and we are located in premises at Ånestadsskolan and Tornhagsskolan. As a wood and metal crafts teacher at Linghemsskolan, your base is at Tornhagsskolan, but you teach at both units.

In recent years, the school has invested in more full-time mentors and has, for example, highly competent student support staff, teachers, special educators, etc. The school is characterized by a family atmosphere where "everyone knows everyone" and "all students are everyone's students." A lack of hierarchy and a collaborative climate prevail, and the school actively works on teaching improvement through inclusive school development work. As a new employee, you are offered support from a mentor at the workplace.

You who apply

We are primarily looking for you who have teacher certification with eligibility to teach wood and metal crafts in grades 7–9. In the second hand, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for grades 7–9. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher for grades 7–9. It is meritorious if you have eligibility to teach more subjects in grades 7–9, based on the organization's needs.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have experience teaching wood and metal crafts.

In your role as a teacher in grades 7–9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them be involved in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
