Do you want to put the student's learning and development at the core of everything you do? With us, you get to make a difference every day and create security for the students. Welcome to Ulleviskolan's Adapted Primary School!
Your Responsibilities
In the adapted school, you meet students with intellectual disabilities, where each individual has unique strengths, prerequisites, and needs for support. As a teacher with us, you work closely with the students in their development, learning, and daily life. You work with planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching based on the curriculum, where values-based work is also a natural part.
You see the student's entire school day as an important whole and collaborate closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and guardians. The role also includes close collaboration between the school and the leisure center to create the best possible conditions for each student's development and goal achievement.
The teaching is based on the student group you meet and is characterized by clear structure and a flexible approach. Using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) such as picture support and sign support, as well as digital tools, is a natural part of your teaching. At the same time, you create a predictable environment where students can feel secure, develop, and be challenged at their own pace. Care-related tasks such as diaper changes, dressing, and assisting during meal times are also included in the adapted school role.
Common tasks include:
- Plan, adapt, and structure teaching to create the best possible conditions for each student's learning
- Lead and distribute work in the classroom, as well as supervise and guide teaching assistants in their daily work
- Ensure that teaching maintains a clear direction towards set goals and that everyone in the team works towards the same goals
- Be responsible for teaching in subject areas/subjects and design content that stimulates student development
- Continuously adapt the teaching situation, for example by organizing groups or activities to meet students' different needs
- Clarify instructions and expectations for students and support them in their knowledge development and independence
By building secure relationships, you contribute to students developing their abilities and making progress in both learning and daily life.
The position is a fixed-term contract (vicarious) from 2026-08-10 to 2027-06-18.
Your Workplace
Ulleviskolan Adapted Primary School is located in the Skäggetorp district of Linköping and shares premises with Ulleviskolan's Primary School. The school was established in March 2021 and currently has approximately 60 enrolled students, from Flex to Year 6, with about 6-8 students per class. The premises are fresh and adapted to our operations; for example, we have adapted home economics classrooms. Nature is close by, and we also have an e-bike that enables excursions with students in the local area.
The school is characterized by a generous and welcoming climate where collaboration is central. You will thrive here if you appreciate the dynamic nature of the work and value high professional cohesion. We who work here have the students in focus. We strive to give all students the opportunity to develop based on their prerequisites. Our goal is for students to be involved and feel that they can influence their learning and learning environment, thereby strengthening themselves as individuals. Since we work closely together, we have an open and positive climate where everyone helps out. Together with the primary school, we create our values and traditions.
