Are you the one who always sees the student as a person first, diagnosis second – and who also enjoys finding creative solutions in everyday life? Then you could be our new resource teacher at Tamburinen's Adapted Primary School!
Who are we?
Tamburinen School is located in Klockaretorpet, a creative residential area filled with wonderful students with big dreams for the future. The area is characterized by rows of terraced houses and small wooded areas.
There are approximately 270 students at the school. This autumn, approximately 20 students will attend the Adapted Primary School. At the Adapted Primary School, we have a high staff density and broad competence. Here, special education teachers with a focus on intellectual disability (ID), teachers, preschool teachers, and teaching assistants work together.
The Adapted Primary School consists of two groups of students with different support needs, both within specific subjects and subject areas.
We receive support and guidance from the central Child and Student Health Service regarding our students, as well as contact with habilitation services for certain student-related matters.
Your responsibilities
As a resource teacher with us, you are a key person close to the students throughout the school day. You are present in the classroom, in small groups, and sometimes one-on-one, creating structure, security, and a conducive learning environment. Together with teachers and other staff, you adapt the teaching so that each student receives the right support, in the right way, at the right time.
You support students in teaching situations, both in whole-class settings and in smaller groups. Furthermore, you work with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) in daily work. You contribute to clear structure, predictability, and low-affective handling in classrooms and during breaks. Collaboration with teachers, student health services, and guardians regarding students' needs and development is important.
You support and help students with their needs, which can range from diaper changes to teaching situations. The position also involves work in the after-school center activities.
This position suits you if you thrive in an environment where no day is exactly alike, but where you can rely on clear routines, a secure team, and a common focus: making the school day both understandable and meaningful for our students. Working hours are during the day, sometimes with evenings included in connection with after-school center activities.
Who are you?
You are a person who believes that small progress deserves big applause and who maintains calm even when the day brings unexpected twists. You believe in low-affective handling, are curious about each student's way of communicating, and see collaboration as very important, not as a scheduling problem.
You have a post-secondary education as a resource teacher or another direction that the employer deems equivalent. You are also trained in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
You have experience in student support work in an Adapted Primary School or after-school center within an Adapted Primary School/Primary School. Furthermore, you have knowledge of intellectual disability (ID) and common additional diagnoses, as well as practical experience with low-affective handling.
As a person, you are secure, clear, unpretentious, and flexible. You enjoy collaborating, are happy to share ideas, and appreciate a workplace where laughter and professionalism go hand in hand.
For this position, you must have very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
We look forward to receiving your application!
