Who are we?

Norrköping's Apprenticeship High School is a school for students who are goal-oriented towards a specific profession or industry and who wish to have the opportunity to establish themselves on the labor market already during their education.

We are a municipal upper secondary school with an upper secondary apprenticeship program as our educational concept. The school, which started in the autumn term of 2017 and has a clear focus on working life, offers vocational programs in various industries such as sales and service, hospitality and tourism, hairdressing, childcare and leisure, as well as care and assistance.

We educate our students together with experienced, engaged, and trained supervisors in their respective industries.

We are a small and family-oriented school with trust-based leadership and relationship-building as the foundation of our values.

Our ambition is to give students security in their studies through training, while simultaneously introducing them into their future profession through workplace-based learning. At our school, students develop at their own pace with the support of engaged adults, workplace learning (APL), and teaching that connects theory and practice.

We are a smaller school with close collaborations, high trust, and a strong focus on creating security and motivation for every student. The collaboration between working life and the school creates the conditions students need to be well-equipped for working life after graduation.

Your responsibilities

As a vocational teacher in commerce and service, you work closely with students both at school and at their workplaces. You follow their development through regular visits and tripartite meetings together with supervisors and students, where the teaching is clearly linked to the program's steering documents and the student's individual goals.

The role also includes mentoring, where you become an important, secure adult figure for a group of students and are responsible for creating structure, motivation, and forward momentum in their studies. You collaborate closely with colleagues, guardians, supervisors, and potentially external contacts to create the best possible conditions for each student.

You become part of an engaged and tight-knit work team where we help each other, share ideas, and develop teaching together. The work requires you to be flexible, solution-oriented, and confident in prioritizing between different tasks when the pace changes throughout the year.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have at least a high school education and experience from the commerce or service industry. Most importantly for us is that you have current or recent experience from working in a store and feel confident in today's flows, processes, and customer interactions. You need to have a good understanding of how the industry functions today and be able to translate your knowledge into teaching that is clear and motivating for our students.

You have experience in supervising, coaching, or leading other people, perhaps through work as a supervisor or team leader. If you also have supervisor training, we see this as an asset.

To thrive with us, you need to be a person who builds relationships naturally and meets people with patience, respect, and sensitivity. You are communicative, unpretentious, and good at adapting your way of working based on the student's needs and prerequisites. You inspire and create motivation, while also being secure enough to work independently and take responsibility for your assignment.
