Do you want to help create a safe and inspiring learning environment at a school where the relational perspective and the student's entire school day are in focus? We are now looking for an engaged teacher in the school-age educare program (fritidshem) for Blästadsskolan who wants to develop our operations in close collaboration with colleagues and students in our beautiful natural surroundings.

Your responsibilities

As a teacher in the school-age educare program, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the national curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher in the school-age educare program, you see the student's entire school day as important, and you therefore collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this collaboration, the operations of both the school-age educare program and the school work together to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for every student. You base your work on the group of students you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the operation's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

Your workplace

Blästadsskolan is a multifaceted operation consisting of primary school grades F-6, school-age educare, a resource school focusing on hearing impairment, adapted primary school grades 1-6, and school-age educare. The school is located in the southern districts of Linköping and has nature close by. As a teacher for the intermediate grades, you will work in our newly built school building with premises specifically adapted for the operation. The schoolyard borders beautiful oak forests, walking areas, and grass fields that offer an inspiring environment for play and learning. There are approximately 400 students at the school, and about 100 employees work here.

Blästadsskolan's approach is a relational perspective that should permeate the operations. In a relational perspective, actions and environments are important to examine to understand how and why people get into difficulties, as it is believed that difficulties arise in the situation. The focus is on shaping the learning environment and teaching so that it meets the different needs of all students. The relational perspective is based on a democratic citizenship perspective, equal rights, participation, and an accessible society.

Together we create joyful learning situations where every student is given the opportunity to develop based on their individual prerequisites and abilities. We have high expectations of the student's ability, and the work with adjustments in teaching is the focus of our school development plan.

We have age-homogeneous school-age educare departments for grades F-2: Jaguaren, Leoparden, and Tigern, as well as Pantern for grades 3–6. The school-age educare operations offer both structured and spontaneous activities based on the children's needs, own wishes, and the group's needs. The work in the school-age educare is permeated by common themes as well as weekly and age-crossing activities.

You who apply

We primarily seek you who have teacher certification with eligibility in the school-age educare program. Secondarily, we seek you with a degree certificate or completed education as a teacher in the school-age educare program. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education as a teacher in the school-age educare program. It is meritorious if you have eligibility to teach physical education, music, and art.

It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in a curriculum-based school-age educare program, through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have worked as a teacher in the school-age educare program for at least one school year.

In your role as a teacher in the school-age educare program, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in the school-age educare program, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
