Your responsibilities

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, assessment, and values-based work based on the national curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher, you see the student's entire school day as important, and you therefore collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this collaboration, the school's and after-school center's activities also work together to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. We envision that in mentorship, you work collegially around the student's entire school day and in close cooperation with the after-school staff. You base your work on the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

The position is a temporary assignment extending from 2026-08-07 to 2027-02-19.

Your workplace

Nya Rydsskolan is a preschool to grade 6 school with an associated after-school center, located in the Ryd district, close to both an activity park, Old Linköping, and Rydsskogen. Approximately 50 employees work at the school to equip approximately 230 students for the future. In grades F–3, there are two classes per grade level distributed among three teachers and one after-school educator/staff member. In grades 4–6, there is currently one class per grade level. Since the classes are larger in grades 4–6, we use co-teaching in whole-class settings as much as possible to meet the students' needs in the best way in each subject.

We work language- and knowledge-developing in all subjects and see multilingualism as a resource. Furthermore, we have good structures for collaboration and collegial work, both through grade-level teams with teaching teachers and associated after-school staff, but also through our three work groups: F–3, 4–6, and After-school center. The school also has a well-developed student health service with a counselor and special pedagogical competence, where the school nurse plays a given role in the compensatory student health mission.

You who apply

We are primarily looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach Swedish or Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) in grades 4-6. Secondly, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for grades 4-6. Alternatively, you are at the end of your teacher education for grades 4-6.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades 4-6 for at least one academic year. It is also meritorious if you have experience with grading or alternatively documenting students' learning during the academic year.

In your role as a teacher in grades 4-6, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in grades 4-6, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
