Your responsibilities

As a University Lecturer in Business Law with a focus on Tax Law, you will teach at undergraduate and advanced levels and supervise students. Your main teaching area is Tax Law in a broad sense, including individual taxation, corporate taxation, VAT, EU tax law, and international tax law. The work involves teaching, course design, course responsibility, planning, and course development. Since your teaching is largely part of the Business Law programs, you are expected to participate in quality work and the development of these programs. Teaching often takes place in teaching teams. You will primarily teach in Swedish, but teaching in English may also occur.

As a University Lecturer in Business Law with a focus on Tax Law, you are expected to conduct research within Tax Law, related legal fields, or other areas within Business Law. The research is conducted both in Swedish and English. Part of a University Lecturer's duties also includes applying for external research funding, both individually and as part of a group, within the framework of your research activities. At the Department of Business Law, we often conduct research in collaboration with other departments and institutions within the university or at other higher education institutions. Interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary research projects are encouraged.

We assume that you are active within the research community, participate in the department's activities such as seminars and workshops, participate in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications, and contribute to attracting external research funding.

We are looking for you who actively want to contribute to the university's development work. Collaboration is an integrated part of the university's research and educational mission. Collaboration in research takes place by spreading, making available, and utilizing research. Collaboration in education takes place by planning, implementing, and evaluating education in dialogue with relevant societal actors.

The employment assumes that you have good cooperation skills and can be part of teaching teams and research groups. It is of great importance that you can plan your work with good foresight and are careful with deadlines. The employment assumes that you adopt the digital systems used in the teaching role, such as intranet for course information, scheduling systems, software for digital anonymous examination, etc. The employment may involve taking on certain administrative tasks in the long term, such as being a Study Director, Program Coordinator, or board member. We also welcome your participation and interest in leadership tasks.

Your work includes following developments nationally and internationally within your field of study and other societal developments that are significant for your work.

We expect you to be flexible and have the ability to participate in various types of pedagogical and scientific contexts. You share knowledge and contribute to the professional development of the work group, collegial working methods, and social community. We see your presence and activity as self-evident so that you can perform your duties in the best way and thrive in the work community.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence, and have shown pedagogical skill, or other professional skill that is significant with regard to the content and tasks of the employment.

For this employment, equal weight will primarily be placed on scientific and pedagogical skill, and secondarily on other skills that are assessed as equivalent to each other.

Regarding scientific skill, the following will be assessed:

  • The requirement for the employment is documented scientific skill within Tax Law.
  • Especially meritorious for the employment is documented skill in having obtained external research funding.
  • Meritorious for the employment is documented scientific skill within additional legal fields within Business Law.
  • Meritorious for the employment is documented skill from collaboration within research groups, including participation in interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary research projects.
  • Meritorious for the employment is documented skill regarding collaboration with the surrounding society in research.

Regarding pedagogical skill, the following will be assessed:

  • The requirement for the employment is documented pedagogical skill from teaching within Tax Law.
  • Especially meritorious for the employment is documented pedagogical skill within several sub-areas of Tax Law, including primarily international tax law and VAT.
  • Meritorious for the employment is documented pedagogical skill within additional legal fields relevant to the Department of Business Law, e.g., EU law, property law, bankruptcy law, and IT law.
  • Meritorious for the employment is documented development of pedagogical skills, e.g., completed university pedagogical courses.
  • Meritorious for the employment is documented pedagogical skill regarding course responsibility and course design, e.g., as examiner, course coordinator, and/or main teacher.

Other skills that will be assessed for this employment are:

  • Good cooperation skills, and the ability to contribute to the development of the work group, collegial working methods, and social community.
  • Good ability to structure, plan, organize, and prioritize work in an effective manner.
  • Administrative and digital skill is meritorious for the employment.

Since teaching and research take place in Swedish and English, it is a requirement that you can demonstrate the ability to teach and conduct research in both Swedish and English.
