Your responsibilities

The purpose of the position as Assistant Professor is to provide the teacher with the opportunity to develop their independence as a researcher and gain merit both scientifically and pedagogically to meet the requirements for a permanent professorship.

Interdisciplinary studies focusing on violence against children and young people encompass all types of violence, as well as their medical, psychological, and societal causes and consequences on the development, health, well-being, and functioning of children and young people. The subject area also includes studies on the prevention of violence, its identification, and support and treatment for those who have been exposed to violence, including the implementation of policies and methods, investigation of violent crimes, and cross-sectoral development of operations.

As an Assistant Professor in interdisciplinary studies focusing on violence against children and young people, you will work at the National Knowledge Centre Barnafrid. You will be active in the research community, participate in the department's activities such as seminars and workshops, engage in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications, and contribute to attracting external research funding.

You will teach at the undergraduate and advanced levels in Swedish and English, and supervise students within the various programs of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The work includes administrative tasks such as course design, course responsibility, and examination.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a PhD or equivalent scientific competence. We primarily seek candidates who have obtained their PhD within the last seven years. We welcome applicants with a suitable background such as in law, criminology, medicine, psychology, social work, sociology, and other subjects dealing with violence and other abuse against children.

For this position, primary emphasis will be placed on scientific competence, secondary on pedagogical competence, and tertiary on other competencies which are assessed as equivalent to each other.

About the position

This position is for a duration of 4 years, full-time.

Start date according to agreement.
