Are you a Study and Career Counselor (SYV) and want to work at the central study and career guidance unit as part of a team with other counselors? Your responsibilities

At the Center for Adult Education (CFV), you will become part of a centralized guidance function where we work in a close-knit team of study and career counselors. Unlike many other SYV positions where one often works alone at a school unit, our operations are built on sharing expertise, methods, and responsibility. You work independently in your meetings with applicants, but you always have the support of a collective group of colleagues and operate in close collaboration with functions such as admissions, management, and our various educational providers.

Your main task is to guide adults, primarily regarding studies within the municipal adult education system. Since our target group is heterogeneous, ranging from experienced students needing quick e-guidance to individuals requiring extensive support to achieve self-sufficiency, a breadth in your professional role is required. This means you will alternate between individual counseling sessions, group information sessions, mapping for validation, and follow-up of individual study plans.

An exciting part of the role is our joint focus on digital innovation. We are currently developing guidance via VR so that applicants can try out professions digitally, and we are integrating AI as a tool in our daily work. Here, you are expected to be an active part of the team's development work to create modern and target-group-adapted guidance. Your workplace

The Center for Adult Education is a unit that consolidates the municipality-wide functions and authority exercises of adult education in Linköping Municipality, providing prerequisites for effective management, steering, and operational follow-up.

The unit is led by an Area Manager and Principal who are tasked with consolidating and developing various assignments within adult education: admission to adult education, study and career guidance, quality follow-up, communication, information, and outreach activities, support services, operational follow-up, and evaluation of authorized adult education. The Center for Adult Education is tasked with ensuring the quality of education provided by educational operators that have agreements with Linköping Municipality. The assignment includes systematically and continuously following up on the schools' adult education, analyzing results, and ensuring they comply with current agreements, using this to plan and create materials for the further development of adult education.

You who apply

We are looking for you who have a degree or are at the end of your education as a study and career counselor. You are well acquainted with the Swedish education system as well as the competency requirements and needs for different professions on the Swedish labor market.

It is meritorious if you have experience working in a politically governed organization, as we work systematically and result-oriented according to the board's goals. Experience in driving various development issues within your professional field and that you actively want and can contribute to the development of our operations is also meritorious. You have good knowledge of IT-based technology and digital guidance tools. It is also meritorious if you have experience with guidance via digital tools.

To succeed in the role, you need to be structured, self-initiating, responsible, and used to driving work independently but with a desire to work together with others. You work with goals and are guided by goal- and result-oriented thinking in prioritization, planning, and action based on given timeframes and deadlines. Through a conscious approach, you create security, trust, and good relationships. You see the big picture and prioritize the right questions, listen, and create understanding while acting and being flexible in changes. You will come into contact with many people on different arenas. It is of great importance that you display personal maturity, have the ability to distinguish between the professional and the private, and have the ability to meet people based on their individual conditions.
