Do you want to work in a smaller context within the Introductory Programme? Here you have the opportunity to make a difference for students in need of special support in a varied and student-oriented role. Welcome to us!
Your responsibilities
Full-time mentors have the task of relieving teaching staff of duties related to student mentoring. In the role of full-time mentor, you will work with student support. This means:
- Being part of the Student Health Team (SHT) and working with documentation in Prorenata
- Maintaining contact with guardians
- Planning and participating in mentorship time, development conferences, parent meetings, etc.
- Encouraging and coaching students, as well as working with motivational interventions, goal setting, and future planning
- Monitoring attendance and working with corrective measures
- Helping students with study planning and study techniques
You will also work with the implementation of routines and action plans, code of conduct, and core values, as well as planning and conducting social activities. The role also involves training students socially, which may include going out on social activities. As needed, you will also act as a resource in the classroom and cover for teachers when they are absent.
The teachers at the school work in teams regarding the students, and there is also a Student Health Team that you will collaborate with.
The Introductory Programme is aimed at students who are not eligible for upper secondary school. In this position, you will work with students on the individual alternative track, who have a background of problematic school absenteeism. All students study basic school subjects, and the programmes are adapted to each student's prerequisites and needs. The Introductory Programmes at Berzeliusskolan are growing and expanding their operations. From the autumn term of 2026, the Introductory Programmes will be located at Berzeliusskolan and in two additional premises within walking distance. In this position, you will primarily work in one of the premises, but you are expected to be able to follow the students and work with them in all buildings.
This position is a fixed-term contract (substitute) for the period 2026-08-03 to 2026-12-31.
Your workplace
Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. It includes the upper grades of primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school includes the Natural Science and Technology programmes, as well as the Introductory Programme with a focus on language introduction and the individual alternative. There are approximately 1,900 students in total, of whom over 1,000 are in upper secondary school, and approximately 330 employees at the school. The operations of the Introductory Programme are located both at Berzeliusskolan and in two other nearby buildings. You will therefore work in all three buildings.
At Berzeliusskolan, we work together and strive for an atmosphere that welcomes everyone. This means we have clear routines, action plans, and a well-developed student health service to create a safe environment for students and staff. Our goal is for Berzeliusskolan to be the best choice for students' learning and development.
