Your responsibilities

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher for grades 7-9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and other stakeholders in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You base your work on the student group you encounter and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

This position involves teaching mathematics and all Natural Science subjects in grades 7-9, as well as mentorship. Together with a colleague, you are the mentor for a class. Mentorship is an important part of your assignment where you are expected to work closely with students to ensure functioning student groups and promote student attendance.

Your workplace

Arenaskolan is a sports school located at Bilbörsen Arena. The school has profiles in football, hockey, figure skating, swimming, dance, and a multisport focus. Today, approximately 550 students attend Arenaskolan, and we have approximately 80 employees.

For example, students have fixed seating in all classrooms, and we conduct frequent follow-ups on our rules of conduct.

Who you are

Primarily, we are looking for you who have teacher certification with eligibility to teach mathematics and one or more Natural Science subjects in grades 7-9. Secondarily, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are at the end of your teacher education for grades 7-9. It is meritorious if you are eligible to teach all Natural Science subjects.

It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have experience with students with NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) or have taught in lower or middle school. It is also meritorious if you have experience of successful classroom leadership.

In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you are to organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model and motivate students by creating engagement and participation. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them participate in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role. You adapt easily to changed needs. You enjoy challenges and take the initiative to try different methods in teaching to achieve the expected result.
