Do you want to become a key person at "the small school with the big heart"? At Björnkärrsskolan in Ryd, we are a tightly knit team of 30 employees who are passionate about giving our 175 students the best start in life. We are now looking for an engaged resource teacher for our lower primary stage (grades 1-3) – a role for you who wants to make a real difference, without having the overall responsibility of a homeroom teacher. Welcome to a workplace with high well-being, low staff turnover, and a strong sense of community!

Your Responsibilities

In the role of resource teacher at the lower primary level (grades 1–3), you will work broadly with teaching in all common subjects. A special focus will be on supporting and challenging students in their language development, which means that qualification in Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) is a requirement for the position. You will have close and tight collaboration with other lower primary teachers and the school's special education teacher to create the best conditions for each student together.

As a teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and values-based work based on the national curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. The position involves conducting development talks, but you do not have a traditional homeroom teacher responsibility.

As a teacher, you view the student's entire school day as important, and therefore you collaborate with both guardians and colleagues regarding the student. As part of this collaboration, the school's and the after-school center's activities work together to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You base your work on the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. If you also have knowledge or interest in music, it is a fantastic bonus, as there is an opportunity to lead music teaching for our students in grades 1 and 2. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit the students' learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you utilize the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

Your Workplace

Björnkärrsskolan is "the small school with the big heart" – a pleasant, multicultural F-6 school with one parallel class and approximately 175 students. The school is located in the Ryd district and is characterized by a good atmosphere and close collaboration between students, staff, and guardians. We are a tightly knit team of around 30 employees who work very closely together. Here, well-being is high, which is also reflected in our low staff turnover. Our staff is engaged, competent, and has high teaching qualifications – something we are proud of.

Here, we work in well-functioning work teams to best meet each student's need for support and stimulation. Participation permeates the operations, both at the student and staff levels. Student influence is important, and the student council plays an active role in the school's life by organizing activities and raising issues concerning students' daily lives. Collegial learning and pedagogical leadership are a natural part of our development work, and the after-school center staff work purposefully to develop the operations in accordance with the curriculum.

You Who Apply

We are primarily looking for you who have a teaching license with qualification to teach Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) in grades 1-3. In the second hand, we are looking for you with a completed teacher education for SVA grades 1-3. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in SVA grades 1-3. It is meritorious if you have the qualification to teach mathematics and music. The position itself includes teaching in all common subjects for the grade.

It is a requirement that you have experience of working in a curriculum-based school through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have taught in grades 1-3 for at least one school year.

In your role as a teacher in grades 1-3, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other regulatory documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you should organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher in grades 1-3, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and let them be involved in the design of the teaching. In a quality-conscious way, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document this. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that occur in your professional role.
