The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Office is responsible for board and management support, faculty-wide resource allocation, planning and follow-up, as well as research and education administration.
Job Responsibilities
Mid Sweden University's operational support is currently undergoing a change process. As a case handler within the Faculty Office team, you will provide operational support in regular activities and in ongoing change initiatives. You will work on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty and the Head of Office to produce knowledge materials, coordinate working groups, propose new ways of working and processes, and ensure the quality of education and research.
Secretary duties in various committees may occur. All roles at the Faculty Office also include general administration towards the nearest operational manager, such as meeting/visit administration, booking of travel and premises, orders and purchases, and other administrative tasks. Travel, primarily between campus locations, is part of the job. Overnight stays may occur.
Your Background
We are looking for you who have (must-have requirements):
- A Master's degree in the social sciences, with a focus on a discipline relevant to the position, such as law, administration, or economics.
- Experience in process leadership and working as administrative operational and management support within the university and higher education sector.
- Good knowledge of collegial governance models.
- Well-developed strategic and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in various types of group constellations.
- Good IT competence and experience working with MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint or similar software.
Your Attributes
In this role, you will work at a high pace with complex assignments often characterized by conflicting goals. The role therefore requires good communication skills and the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both externally and with people from different parts of the university's multifaceted operations. As a person, you need to have the integrity required to steer towards established goals while being responsive and solution-oriented. You are calm and controlled in pressurized situations and can separate the personal from the professional.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
