The Department of Finance and Planning is responsible for the university's finances, planning functions, and procurement. The department's mission is to work with both ongoing operational activities and development and strategic issues within its areas of responsibility. The department consists of the units Accounting and Business Economics, as well as a support staff. The role of Business Controller is located within the department's support staff. The department operates at Mittuniversitetet's campuses in both Östersund and Sundsvall.

Responsibilities

You will work to develop the operations and its capabilities based on assignments, vision, and strategy by:

• Managing, improving, and developing the university's governance and follow-up systems.
• Supporting managers and leadership in developing operations, for example by supporting the planning and follow-up process.
• In investigative assignments, mapping, analyzing, and proposing measures and actions.

Your Background

We are looking for you who have the following qualifications (mandatory requirements):

• A relevant university degree.
• Several years of experience in governance, follow-up, and development work at a central level.
• Good knowledge of internal control and governance.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English, e.g., formulating decision support materials or investigative reports at a general level.

Experience from the higher education sector or other public administration is meritorious.

You are a positive person who has the ability to see opportunities and alternative courses of action in complex and challenging situations. As a person, you should be proactive and development-oriented, accustomed to taking personal responsibility while being receptive, having good teamwork skills, and an unpretentious attitude. It is also important that you are structured and driven by being involved in developing operations.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and your ability to collaborate within the team.

Employment and Start Date

The position is a permanent full-time employment. The start date is 2026-08-24 or as agreed.
