We are looking for an engaged and strategic project manager who wants to lead the three-year development project Creative Jämtland Härjedalen – an initiative that strengthens the region's cultural and creative industries and contributes to increased innovation, competitiveness, and collaboration. Region Jämtland Härjedalen offers a central role with opportunities to improve conditions for cultural and creative industries in Jämtland Härjedalen and strengthens the region's capacity within smart specialization. The project runs from September 2026 to August 2029 and aims to establish:
- a joint platform for business promotion actors
- a coordinated and systematic working method for business promotion actors
- a structure for "one door in and the right way forward" for companies and actors within the cultural and creative industries
The project aims to build a strong regional ecosystem where business promotion actors gain increased capacity to support the cultural and creative industries within the strength area of experiences.
Role and Responsibilities
The position of project manager within the Creative Jämtland Härjedalen project is located in the Sustainable Growth Area within Regional Development at Region Jämtland Härjedalen. Region Jämtland Härjedalen is a politically governed organization with responsibility for regional development. Regional Development works with development issues from a social, economic, and environmental perspective and has operations in areas such as business issues, public transport, culture, folk high schools, and competence supply. We work within a large geographical area where conditions and needs vary across the county.
The location is in the Sustainable Growth Area within Regional Development, Region Jämtland Härjedalen in Östersund, but opportunities for remote work to a certain extent are offered.

Job Duties
As a project manager, you are responsible for the project team and the overall responsibility for planning, implementing, and following up on the project. Together with a team consisting of project staff and a communicator, you drive collaboration between actors, develop structures, and ensure that the project's goals are achieved. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- leading the project implementation from start to finish
- coordinating actors within the public sector, business, and culture
- building and developing regional ecosystems and collaboration structures
- driving the development of the platform and working methods
- responsible for procurement, contracts, budget, reporting, and follow-up
- ensuring clear and target-group-adapted communication
- monitoring the external environment
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- academic education or equivalent experience
- documented experience in project management, preferably in larger development projects
- experience with EU-funded projects or public funding
- basic understanding of contracts and procurement
- understanding of regional development and business promotion work
Personal suitability is given great weight.
Meritorious: Experience in building networks and collaborating between multiple actors and sectors, experience working in a public organization, knowledge of smart specialization and innovation systems, and knowledge of cultural and creative industries.
