The "Leisure Bank" (Fritidsbanken) is a concept found in over 40% of Sweden's municipalities, where sports and leisure equipment is lent out free of charge, contributing to increased participation, public health, and sustainability.

We are now looking for a Project Manager who wants to lead and coordinate the implementation in Krokom Municipality and create the conditions for a successful establishment.

As Project Manager, you are responsible for planning, leading, and coordinating the implementation of the Leisure Bank in Krokom Municipality. You act as the hub of the project, coordinating both internal and external stakeholders throughout the entire establishment process.

The project is led by a steering group to which you report. You are responsible for driving the project towards set goals, following up on implemented activities, and keeping the steering group informed about the project's operations and results. You have a working group with various necessary competencies at your disposal. You work according to the implementation model developed by the association Fritidsbanken Sverige.

As an employee, you are based at the Culture and Leisure Unit, where 17 permanent employees work together with several project and hourly staff. We belong to the Municipal Administration Office, which supports three committees: the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environment Committee, and the Community Planning Committee. The office employs a total of approximately 135 staff members and is divided into the central staff area, the building and environment area, and the community planning and growth area, which includes the culture and leisure department. All operations within the growth area have a responsibility to contribute to sustainable growth in Krokom Municipality.

A day as Project Manager for the Leisure Bank in Krokom Municipality

You are the one who steers the ship in the right direction, meaning you lead and coordinate all parts of the implementation project that make it possible to establish the Leisure Bank in the municipality. You work according to the implementation model developed by the association Fritidsbanken Sverige.

The overall project is led by a steering group, to which you report regularly on the project's operations and results. You drive the project towards set goals and follow up on implemented activities. At your disposal is a working group that you lead, consisting of representatives and competencies from several different departments.

Your duties as Project Manager include, among other things:

• collaborating internally with relevant departments regarding premises, staffing, and the establishment of operations
• developing and coordinating cooperation with relevant external actors and coordinating the collection of sports and leisure equipment from associations, companies, organizations, and the general public
• planning and coordinating the practical setup of the operations and preparing routines and working methods prior to the start of operations
• responsible for the project's communication and information efforts
• contributing to the design of a training and activity arena related to the operations

Your Competence

We are looking for you who have experience leading projects or development work and who thrive on collaborating with many different stakeholders.

The following requirements exist for the position:

• experience in project management, coordination, and operational development
• good communication skills in both speech and writing
• valid driver's license for passenger car

To succeed in the role, you need to:

• be structured and have good ability to plan, prioritize, and drive work forward
• have good collaboration skills and be easy to build relationships with
• be proactive, solution-oriented, and self-starting

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience from public sector operations
• experience collaborating with the association sector and non-profit organizations
• knowledge of public health work, leisure activities, or social sustainability
• experience driving projects over large geographical areas, especially in sparsely populated and rural environments

Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.

The employment is a fixed-term project position at 100% (40h/week) from September 2026 to January 2027, with a chance of extension.
