Vikaskolan is looking for a teacher for the middle school grades (years 4–6)

Welcome to apply for a teaching position at Vikaskolan – the small school with the big heart!

Vikaskolan is a school for grades F–6 with approximately 130 students and one class per grade level, as well as two after-school care units with about 75 enrolled children. The school is located in the picturesque area of Vika, approximately 15 km from central Falun.

The proximity to forests, sports fields, and nature provides excellent opportunities for outdoor pedagogy and creating varied and inspiring teaching.

Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to work as a homeroom teacher for the middle school grades, responsible for your own class.

The role includes:

  • Planning, implementing, and following up on teaching based on national curricula.
  • Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapting teaching to meet students' different needs and prerequisites.
  • Assessing and documenting students' knowledge development.
  • Conducting development conferences in close dialogue with students and guardians.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the work team and the school's collegium.

You will work closely with your colleagues in the work team to create a cohesive, safe, and developmental school day for the students, where you jointly take responsibility for both knowledge development and the students' social environment.

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

  • Teaching certification with eligibility to teach in grades 4–6.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).

You are well-versed in the school's governing documents and have good digital competence. You wish to contribute actively to school development and thrive in a positive, solution-oriented work climate.

Meritorious qualifications

  • Experience working in the middle school grades.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and extra adaptations.
  • Competence in digital learning tools.
  • Experience with outdoor pedagogy.

Employment conditions

Permanent full-time position with a start date of August 10, 2026.
