Bergsnässkolan is the small school in central Avesta. There are currently around 220 students. The school's size is one of our many strengths! Here, all teachers and students at the school work in close interaction with each other, and we value our high teaching quality combined with a high sense of security and well-being. We work with a two-teacher system, which gives us good prerequisites for providing our students with extensive teacher support.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating music education at the middle school level (grades 4-6), in accordance with the Swedish National Curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. Depending on your qualifications, teaching in other subjects may also be relevant.

The responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching both individually and in collaboration with work teams and other colleagues. An important part of the job is to systematically monitor the students' knowledge development. You work according to current routines for individual development plans and written assessments.

You strive to create a classroom environment where all students can succeed based on their prerequisites. In consultation with the student health team, you also work to ensure that relevant measures are implemented for students in need of additional support.

You are also responsible for having a good overview and care for your students' school day and social situation as a whole, which may involve contact with other authorities and agencies.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have teacher certification and the qualification to teach music at the middle school level.

You have the ability to lead and motivate students and create a safe and educational classroom environment with engaged and participating students. Your leadership is characterized by clarity and structure. For the work to be successful, you need to have good collaboration skills and be relationship-building, as good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues are fundamental to the work.

You need to have the ability to adapt your teaching based on results, evaluations, and the individual student's needs. To achieve this, you need a good understanding of how different students absorb knowledge and the ability to adapt your teaching method at both the group and individual levels.

The responsibilities of a teacher presuppose that you possess personal maturity and the ability to distinguish between the personal and the professional. You also need to be stable and controlled in stressful or pressured situations, as well as flexible and able to adapt to changed circumstances.

You understand the importance of working towards the school's overarching goals and following established routines, guidelines, and decisions, and you work loyally for the benefit of the operations.

Experience working in work teams and experience in teaching are important. We also appreciate that you have knowledge and experience working with Office programs, as these are used frequently in the job.

If teacher qualification is lacking, a candidate with other relevant experience may be employed.
