Our school is located in the northern part of Avesta Municipality, close to green areas. The school offers a leisure-time center (fritidshem), preschool class, and has close cooperation with the preschool. We work consciously and systematically with school development, both short-term and long-term. We believe that collaboration and collegial learning are the keys to raising and strengthening the competence of our staff at Johan-Olovskolan. Therefore, our employees are part of work teams and subject groups, where everyone plays an important role in our joint work and strive to develop the school's operations.

We are looking for a teacher for instruction in Home and Consumer Studies and Visual Arts at Johan-Olovskolan. The position involves teaching in well-equipped classrooms for students from grade 4 to grade 9. In this role, you are responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating the teaching individually and in collaboration with the work team. An important part of the job is to systematically follow the students' knowledge development, both formatively and summatively, according to current routines. As a subject teacher at Johan-Olovskolan's lower secondary school, you, together with a colleague, serve as a student mentor for a student group, with associated tasks such as continuous contact between home and school.

We are looking for someone who is communicative and has the ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and other actors around the student. Your pedagogical strength lies in your ability to adapt teaching based on results, follow-up evaluations, and the individual student's needs. To achieve this, you need to have a good understanding of how different people absorb information and knowledge, as well as the ability to adapt your teaching methods at both group and individual levels.

A valid teaching license is required for a permanent position. Other pedagogically oriented degrees and/or experience working as a teacher in Home and Consumer Studies and Visual Arts at the primary school level are meritorious. Several years of experience with an inclusive approach and adaptations in teaching is also considered meritorious.
