Qualified Teacher in Craft and Design at Forssaängskolan, Borlänge

Forssaängskolan is a primary school (grades F-6) with 350 students located in the Forssa district of Borlänge. Here, a wonderful, solution-oriented, driven, and engaged team of 50 people works with a focus on good teaching, study environment, and strong belief in students' abilities. In our student health work, we start from what works, what prevents issues, and what promotes health, with the student's voice and participation at the center.

We have a structured quality work where set goals guide the work in both large and small processes. Goal setting, follow-up, and evaluation are a natural part of the work in grade teams and work groups. We have four lead teachers and three work group leaders who, together with all staff and school management, drive development forward with a focus on teaching.

Forssaängskolan is a partner school to Dalarna University, which means we host student teachers during their practical training (VFU). AIL students also work in the operation.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who are a qualified teacher with eligibility in Craft and Design. You will teach textile crafts. The job includes planning, implementation, documentation, follow-up, and evaluation of the activity according to decided goals and guidelines; therefore, it is important that you are well-versed in the school's governing documents. In addition to teaching the craft subject, the role involves developing craft teaching together with the school's teachers.

In our work groups, we have a lively dialogue and structured work regarding how we develop our pedagogical activities to ensure high goal fulfillment among our students. In addition to teaching, other tasks occurring at the school are included.

Qualifications

Basic requirements for the position:

• Qualified teacher with eligibility in Craft and Design.
• Very good oral and written skills in Swedish.

Personal qualities:

As a person, you are structured and have a well-developed communicative ability. You lead and organize your work with creativity, clarity, and good communication. You create a creative and safe learning environment with high, clear, and positive expectations for your students. You have a strong student focus and are skilled at building relationships with people in general, and with children and young people in particular. For us, it is important that you have a deep understanding of students' differences in both their learning and behavior. Based on this understanding, you meet students with clarity, warmth, and high positive expectations. Knowledge and understanding of NPD (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) are required. You are interested in school development and are stimulated by working with follow-up and evaluation together with colleagues.
