Description

We are looking for a special needs educator (specialpedagog) for Mora Gymnasium. As a special needs educator, your tasks will include mapping support needs, collaborating with student counselors, providing guidance to teachers, conducting training, and working within the student health team and the support team. Interviews are conducted continuously throughout the application period.

Ability to initiate, inspire, encourage, and lead staff in pedagogical dialogue and development.

Ability to build trust and good relationships, both internally and externally.

Ability to take initiative in development.

Ability to take responsibility for the operations as well as your own and others' working conditions.

Job Responsibilities

As a special needs educator at Mora Gymnasium, you will work on mapping students' support needs and contributing to the creation of accessible learning environments. You will collaborate closely with student counselors, teachers, and school leadership, and you will be part of the student health team and the support team. The role includes guiding and supporting teachers in their pedagogical work, as well as initiating and implementing training initiatives.

You are expected to contribute to the school's development work by inspiring, initiating, and leading pedagogical processes. The role requires good collaboration skills, the ability to build trusting relationships, and the ability to take responsibility for both the operations and your own development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Special Education or Special Needs Pedagogy, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Pedagogical insight, i.e., knowledge of learning theories, ability to see connections between theories, teaching situations, and between pedagogical methods and learners' development.
• Knowledge of various pedagogical theories and approaches that stimulate learning. Good knowledge of student development and learning.
• Good knowledge of current regulatory documents and relevant legislation.
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, and good computer skills.
• Relevant professional experience.

Secondary Education Administration

The Secondary Education Administration operates under a joint board for the municipalities of Mora, Orsa, and Älvdalen. The administration is responsible for secondary education and adult education in the three cooperating municipalities. We are a school with high staff competence and good student results. We focus on students' knowledge development and have strong confidence in teachers' abilities. Currently, the school offers 14 national programs, introductory programs, sports high school, adapted high school, adult education, Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), and distance university studies. The school has approximately 1,100 students in upper secondary school and about 600 students in adult education.
