About Skogsbo School

Skogsbo School is a grades F-6 school with approximately 450 students. The school is located just outside central Avesta. At the school, we actively work to create good conditions for learning by offering a safe learning environment and high-quality teaching, both in school and at the after-school center. We are a partner school with Dalarna University, which means we welcome teacher students every semester, contributing to our scientific foundation and the development of our operations.

All teaching at the school should be permeated by our three keywords: learning, safety, together, to give all students the opportunity to develop as far as possible based on their prerequisites.

The Position

1 position available

The position involves approximately 35% teaching in textile crafts (textile technology), combined with a substitute teacher position in grades 4-6. The duties include planning, conducting, and evaluating teaching, both individually and in collaboration with work teams and other colleagues. An important part of the job is systematically following the students' knowledge development. You will work according to current routines for individual development plans and written assessments.

You strive to create a classroom situation where all students can succeed based on their prerequisites. In consultation with the student health team, you also work to ensure that relevant measures are implemented for students in need of additional support. You are responsible for creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

Other duties include:

• Recess supervision
• Ordering teaching materials and similar items in collaboration with work teams
• Pedagogical lunches, etc.

We are looking for you who

Have the ability to lead and motivate students and create a safe and educational classroom environment with engaged and participatory students. Your leadership is characterized by clarity and structure. For the work to be successful, you need to have good collaboration skills and be relationship-building, as good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues are fundamental to the work.

You need to have the ability to adapt your teaching based on results, evaluations, and the individual student's needs. To achieve this, you need a good understanding of how different students absorb knowledge and the ability to adapt your teaching style at both the group and individual levels.

The duties presuppose that you possess personal maturity and the ability to distinguish between the personal and the professional. You also need to be stable and controlled in stressful or pressured situations, as well as flexible and able to adapt to changed circumstances. You understand the importance of working towards the school's overarching goals and following established routines, guidelines, and decisions, and working for the benefit of the operation. Your ability to express yourself in Swedish, both written and oral, should be good.

Requirements and Employment

Teacher certification for teaching textile crafts in grades 4-6, as well as experience teaching in grades 4-6, is a requirement for employment. Employment with other pedagogical education may become relevant.
