Job Description
Randstad Finance is now looking for a qualified financial consultant for a long-term assignment with one of our exciting clients in the public sector in Södertälje.
The client runs an innovative development hub and collaboration platform focused on developing future sustainable food systems. The operations are project-based, bringing together business, academia, and society, and are funded by regional, national, and European grants. The team is physically based in modern facilities at Södertälje Science Park.
In the role of financial consultant, you will step in as a strategic and operational support during a parental leave.
Responsibilities
As a consultant, you will become a central and important cog in a tight-knit project team. You are expected to independently drive and maintain full control over the financial processes and the specific regulations required by regionally, nationally, and EU-funded projects.
Your main tasks include:
- Continuous analysis, forecasting, and monitoring of large and complex project budgets.
- Ensuring correct accounting and reconciliations with external funders and the municipality's internal administration.
- Pedagogically presenting and communicating budget outcomes and financial analyses to project managers, steering groups, and partners.
- Handling invoice flows, e-commerce, and authority requirements regarding archiving.
Qualifications
To match the client's specification for this role, you must meet the following:
- University education with a focus on economics or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a controller or in a similar qualified financial role.
- Documented experience working with budgets, follow-ups, and forecasts in the public sector.
- Proficiency in the accounting system "Ekonomi" and the e-commerce/ERP system Unit4 ERP.
- Very good knowledge of the Office package, with a focus on Excel.
- Languages: Very good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English.
Merits:
- Experience in financial reporting to one or more of the following funders: Tillväxtverket, Swedish ESF Council, Vinnova, Swedish Board of Agriculture, or regions, as well as familiarity with their specific reporting systems.
Personal qualities:
To thrive in this assignment, you are someone who combines a sharp numerical mind and an analytical approach with flexible and solution-oriented thinking. You are not afraid to delve into complex bureaucratic issues, but also possess a strong pedagogical inclination.
You are independent and proactive, yet you collaborate easily and are not hesitant to "roll up your sleeves" to support the team all the way to the finish line.
