Norrtälje Municipality is now looking for a strategist with coordinating responsibilities who wants to help further develop the municipality's crime prevention work regarding gender equality, honor-based violence and oppression, and intimate partner violence (IPV).

The position is located at "Trygg i Norrtälje kommun" (Safe in Norrtälje Municipality), the municipality's consolidated function for preventive safety and public health work, and is organizationally placed within the Municipal Executive Board Office.

About the role

As a strategist/coordinator in your area, you play a key role in the long-term, evidence-based, and municipality-wide crime prevention work. The assignment is both strategic and operationally close, meaning you will support, coordinate, and drive development within the following areas:

• Intimate partner violence
• Honor-based violence and oppression
• Gender equality

The role is cross-sectoral and requires close collaboration with the municipality's administrations, political leadership, authorities, civil society, and other external actors. The position has no personnel or budget responsibility, which provides good conditions for focusing on content, quality, and development.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will among other things:

• Have overall strategic and coordinating responsibility for the municipality's work regarding IPV, honor-based violence and oppression, and gender equality.
• Monitor, follow up on, and further develop municipality-wide strategies, action plans, and steering documents.
• Produce analyses, knowledge bases, and situation reports as support for management and operations.
• Support the implementation of action plans through goals, indicators, and activities in the municipality's steering and management systems.
• Function as an expert support in investigations and strategic development work.
• Coordinate municipality-wide networks and working groups.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct training for politicians, managers, and employees.
• Contribute to and further develop the department's joint safety work.
• Collaborate with schools and student health services.
• Conduct active environmental scanning locally, regionally, and nationally.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A relevant higher education or university degree, for example in social sciences, social work, gender studies, or equivalent.
• Documented experience of working with intimate partner violence, honor-based violence and oppression, and/or gender equality.
• Current knowledge of the research field concerning men's violence against women, IPV, and honor-related issues.
• Experience of strategic work within the public sector or similar contexts.
• Good experience in training, lecturing, and communicating complex issues to different target groups.
• Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

About the workplace

Trygg i Norrtälje kommun is part of the Safety and Security unit at the Municipal Executive Board Office. Trygg i Norrtälje kommun leads, develops, and coordinates the municipality-wide safety work within crime prevention and public health.

The operations include among other things crime prevention work, IPV, ANDTS (Alcohol, Narcotics, Drugs, Tobacco, and Other Drugs), training, citizen dialogues, and strategic development work.
