Unit for Language, National Minorities and Archives, Ministry of Culture
The Ministry of Culture is responsible for issues concerning culture, democracy, media, national minorities, and the language and culture of the Sami people.
The Unit for Language, National Minorities and Archives (SNA) is responsible for language issues, questions regarding national minorities and the language and culture of the indigenous Sami people, as well as archive issues, intangible cultural heritage, remembrance of the Holocaust, and certain museums. The unit also coordinates research issues within the ministry.
Your working day. Sweden's tomorrow.
The duties primarily involve the processing of cases concerning national minorities. As a case officer, you will independently drive processes, prepare cases, and draft materials for political leadership. The work includes analysis, development work, and follow-up of the unit's issues. It may become relevant to work with preparations for and participation in international meetings within the framework of, for example, the EU and the Council of Europe. Administrative tasks occur. The tasks sometimes need to be carried out under time pressure, so you should enjoy working in conditions where you must be prepared for the unexpected.
The work takes place in continuous and close dialogue with both your manager and the ministry's leadership, as well as colleagues within the ministry. You will also have a dialogue with other ministries, agencies, and organizations within civil society. We offer a job that is developmental and varied with many contact surfaces.

Your background
We are looking for you who have a relevant academic degree or other academic education that we assess as relevant for the duties. Furthermore, you have a couple of years of current experience in case processing within public administration, as well as good knowledge of Swedish societal life and government administration. You have good skills in the Office package and a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English.
If you also have experience in case processing within the Government Offices, experience or knowledge regarding issues concerning human rights and/or national minorities, and experience of working with the EU and international organizations, we consider this meritorious.
Your attributes
The Government Offices' employee criteria are holistic view, development, and results. Everyone working at the Government Offices needs to have a holistic view and collaborate for the benefit of the operations. You are expected to contribute with your perspective and competence and be open to others. You will bring ideas and new approaches to improve and develop the operations and your own competence. You are results-oriented in your actions and adapt when needs and direction change.
In addition to this, we would like you to be self-reliant, structured, and quality-conscious, as well as have a good understanding of the requirements placed on work in a politically directed organization. Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities.
