The Office of Economy and Control has a coordinating role and provides support to the entire municipality within economy, planning, and follow-up. The area of responsibility includes, among other things, budget, accounting, financing, investments, and economic administration, as well as procurement, tendering, secretariat and case handling, and local strategic issues. The office also coordinates business planning, follow-up, statistics, quality, and analysis, and drives the municipality's work for a long-term sustainable societal development.

Job Description

As a Controller at Sigtuna Municipality, you belong to the unit for economic planning and follow-up at the Economy and Control Office. You are part of a team with a total of 12 controllers. You report to the Budget Manager and may work both centrally with overarching economic issues and towards the municipality's Education Board.

In connection with our current municipal controller's parental leave, we are working on distributing tasks across several different roles and taking the opportunity to broaden the competencies and experiences of several employees. Therefore, the advertised position can be adapted to the needs that exist and what best matches the applicant's previous experience and competencies. The position may involve responsibility for economic follow-up of administrative offices and/or the municipality's operations within the Education Board. You will have close collaboration with the managers of the operations. In your role as a controller, you work with both steering and support. You work independently and together with the operations, where you are the managers' advisor and sounding board in economic matters.

The position is a fixed-term appointment, a full-time replacement for one year.

Your main tasks as a controller are:

• Budget and forecasting work
• Economic follow-up
• Interim and annual accounts
• Reporting
• Work on investigations and development
• Your tasks may also touch upon the accounting area and involve some collaboration with the accounting unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A university education with an economic focus
• Several years of experience working independently as a controller
• Ability to compile, analyze, and present data
• Knowledge of and experience from municipal operations
• Expertise in economic issues within the education sector

You are a relationship-building person who takes initiative in social contexts and finds it easy to make new contacts. You enjoy collaborating with others and work without hierarchy to find solutions that contribute to the common goal. At the same time, you are solution-oriented and have the ability to quickly identify challenges and find effective ways forward when problems arise.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
