On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced communicator with specialist competence in crisis communication. The assignment involves developing structures, plans, and training initiatives within crisis preparedness, as well as providing support to the organization regarding serious incidents and civil defense.

Start: 2026-09-01
End: 2026-12-31, with possibility of extension
Scope: Full-time
Location: Södertälje, primarily on-site with some remote work flexibility

About the role

You will help build structures and working methods – and step into operational tasks when needed. The role involves close collaboration with the security department, communications unit (you will work closely with a colleague handling a broad mandate within civil defense), leadership, operations, and external actors such as voluntary organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and visualize internal support documents such as templates, checklists, and key messages. Create an intranet space with resources related to crisis communication.
• Review, develop, and optimize external web information focusing on crisis preparedness and civil defense.
• Support communicators and offices in developing, structuring, and further advancing crisis communication plans, including scenario-based plans linked to risk and vulnerability analyses and business continuity planning.
• Develop concepts for training and exercises in crisis communication for the communications unit staff, in close collaboration with the security department.

Qualifications

• University degree in communication, media, or other relevant education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Several years of experience in professional communications work, preferably within the public sector, government agencies, or other complex organizations.
• Documented experience working with crisis communication, communication during serious incidents, or societal disruptions.
• Ability to work both strategically and operationally – from planning to execution.
• Excellent ability to communicate clearly and adapt messaging to target audiences in both speech and writing in Swedish.
• Good understanding of the communications role in crisis management and multi-actor collaboration.

Desirable qualifications

• Experience working in a crisis command center or similar function.
• Experience planning and conducting crisis exercises and training.
• Knowledge of civil defense, total defense, or municipal crisis preparedness.
• Experience with intranets, web publishing, and digital support platforms.
• Experience collaborating with security functions, leadership, and external actors.
