We are now looking for a Compliance Officer who builds structure, creates clarity, and ensures practical implementation.

About the role

This is a new role with group-wide responsibility for establishing and developing HANZA’s compliance work.

Today, compliance competence, initiatives, and responsibilities exist in various parts of the organization, but lack a cohesive structure. Your task is to set the direction, build frameworks, and ensure that compliance functions effectively in a decentralized organization.

You will work closely with the CFO and the executive team, and maintain close dialogue with operations globally. In this role, you will support, challenge, train, and monitor compliance efforts throughout the organization.

Your responsibilities include:

• Building and implementing a group-wide compliance framework
• Establishing structure and methods for sanctions screening of customers, suppliers, and other business partners
• Working with areas such as anti-corruption, data protection, ethics, and regulations
• Monitoring regulatory changes and translating them into practical and effective working methods
• Training the organization and building an understanding of compliance in a decentralized environment
• Handling and assessing complex compliance cases and risk scenarios, including incidents and investigations. This may also involve external support and advisory services.
• Supporting operations in dialogues with banks, customers, and suppliers regarding compliance matters.
• Preparing reporting and materials for management and other stakeholders
• Participating in acquisitions and market entry with a focus on compliance and risk

You lead without direct personnel responsibility, but with a clear mandate to set boundaries and drive change.

The position is based in Kista, and you will belong to the Finance organization where Lars Åkerblom is CFO.

How it works in practice

HANZA is a decentralized organization where responsibility and authority lie close to the business and decisions are made locally. This means that your success in this role largely depends on your ability to make things work in reality. Not just by writing policies and regulations, but by making them practical and usable.

You will have many contact points, both in Sweden and internationally. The questions are often complex, sometimes without obvious answers. This is also what makes the role interesting.

Who you are

You have broad experience with compliance in an international operation and are accustomed to working across multiple areas. You have good knowledge of sanctions screening and due diligence, but above all, you know how to translate regulations into functioning working methods in practice.

You have experience building structure and developing processes, preferably in an environment where much needs to be set up from scratch. Experience from the manufacturing industry or similar complex operations is advantageous.

As a person, you are pragmatic, clear, and confident in your assessments. You drive your work forward with initiative and have an easy time bringing the organization along with you. You are also comfortable handling gray areas and making trade-offs in complex situations.
