About the role
As a Tax Economist, you will become an integrated and key member of the CFO team. You will take significant responsibility for the calculation, reporting, and filing of taxes, as well as regulatory reporting and the preparation of the asset manager's annual reports.
Since the role involves close collaboration with local tax specialists at foreign branches as well as external auditors, this assignment offers a fantastic network and a dynamic international environment.
This is a consultancy assignment via Academic Work. You will be employed by Academic Work and work as a consultant for our client. This is a parental leave cover of 10–12 months starting in early September.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will have a broad and varied daily routine where you alternate between operational accounting processes and strategic tax issues. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Declarations & Reporting: Production and submission of monthly VAT returns, annual income tax returns, as well as approval of employer contributions and preliminary tax.
- Accounting & Annual Reports: Production and submission of annual reports, as well as preparing materials for and liaising with external auditors.
- Intra-group transactions: Calculate settlements for foreign tax, group relief, and dividends within the asset management group and onwards to the parent company.
- Collaboration & Interfaces: Collaborate closely with the group's tax team (Group Tax) to ensure that taxes are correctly reflected in financial reporting and declarations.
We are looking for someone who
- Education: Academic degree in a relevant field such as taxation, accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent.
- Experience in finance/tax: At least 5 years of practical experience as an auditor, consultant, or similar role, with a strong preference for experience within asset management.
- Experience in accounting: At least 5 years of practical experience in accounting work and production of annual reports, as well as a good understanding of reporting standards integrated with tax.
- Tax competence: Good knowledge of Swedish tax legislation (corporate tax, indirect taxes, and transfer pricing). Experience with international tax issues and transfer pricing is a major advantage.
- Languages: Very good communication and interpersonal skills, with fluent proficiency in both Swedish and English in speech and writing.
As a person, you are driven, analytical, and meticulous. You enjoy having many contact points and collaborating with different stakeholders, while maintaining a structured working method and taking great ownership of your processes and deadlines.
