Forskolan Tofflan is looking for an engaged preschool teacher or childcare assistant to join our team in Tofta. We are a small, nature-oriented, and family-like preschool where the children's development, security, and learning are at the center. The preschool is a parent cooperative located approximately two miles south of Visby and serves around 24–25 children aged 1–5.

The activities take place in the Tofta community hall, surrounded by forests, meadows, and pastures, making nature an integral part of the children's daily life and learning. Outdoor play is a central part of our operations, both on the preschool's own yard and in nearby natural environments like the forest.

At the same time, the preschool's work is characterized by creative activities and a theme-based approach where the children's interests and curiosity drive the content, allowing for playful exploration and deepened learning over time.

As an employee at Tofflan, you will become part of an experienced and competent team where collaboration, participation, and engagement are central to the work. The team consists of six employees: five educators and one cook who also cleans. The preschool is run on a non-profit basis by parents, which fosters close cooperation between home and school.

Your responsibilities

In the role of preschool teacher or childcare assistant, you will work together with colleagues to create a secure and developmental environment for the children where care, development, and learning form a whole. For you as a preschool teacher, the role entails a special responsibility for ensuring that the goals and intentions of the curriculum are implemented in daily work. You are responsible for planning, implementing, documenting, and developing the teaching, as well as systematically monitoring each child's development and learning to improve the quality of the activity.

The role also involves leading and driving the pedagogical work within the team, responsible for developmental conversations, and ensuring good cooperation with parents. You contribute to developing norms and values within the group of children and actively participate in systematic quality work.

As a childcare assistant, you work together with preschool teachers in the daily work with the children. You participate in the planning and implementation of teaching and activities and contribute to creating a secure and inspiring environment where the children's curiosity, play, and learning are valued. You collaborate closely with preschool teachers, help drive the pedagogical work, participate in developmental conversations, and work towards good cooperation with parents.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a qualified preschool teacher with a license or a childcare assistant with relevant education or experience. You have a strong focus on the child and trust in the children's competence and willingness to learn. You are engaged, responsible, and have a positive attitude towards your work. You thrive in collaboration with others in a small team and actively contribute to a good work climate. Since nature is a central part of the activity, it is important that you appreciate outdoor time and see possibilities for pedagogical work in outdoor environments.
