Södervärskolan is a primary school serving students in grades 4–9. The school currently has 650 students, with 140 in grades 4–6 and the rest in grades 7–9. The school also has an after-school center. The catchment area includes southern Visby, Eskelhem, Västerhejde, Träkumla, and Stenkumla.
Södervärskolan actively works to lay the foundation for a good learning climate by creating good relationships so that students feel comfortable and safe. In teaching, the starting point is the individual student's needs and abilities, which are developed in a group setting, resulting in good collaboration skills and social competence.
A prerequisite for students' learning is that teachers can point out the next steps in the development process. This gives students the opportunity to have a goal image to strive for and to know how to get there. Students should leave the school as knowledge-seeking and critically reviewing individuals with good self-confidence, humanistic values, and engagement.
The school works with digital learning tools where students have their own iPad as a work tool. The school has a librarian and social pedagogues as extra security for the students. A school counselor and school nurse are present at the school daily.
Södervärskolan has a good sports hall and access to its own rooms for home economics and crafts. The school has its own cooking kitchen with fantastic food as well as a newly renovated school library adjacent to the school café.

Your Responsibilities
You will work as a Spanish teacher in our fantastic collegium at Södervärskolan, where you will be part of a developmental journey with us! You will teach in grades 7–9 and serve as a mentor and class manager together with a colleague.
The assignment includes, in addition to planning, conducting, and following up on teaching based on the students' prerequisites, also documenting the students' learning process and contributing to the development of the subject and the school's operations together with other teachers. You will be part of a work team where you jointly are responsible for the students' knowledge-based and social development.
At Södervärskolan, you will be met by an enthusiastic and competent staff group with a forward-looking attitude and a desire to constantly develop. You will have access to subject teacher colleagues who together plan, evaluate, and follow up on the teaching.
Teaching in Spanish amounts to 50%. In combination with qualification in another subject, the position can cover 100%.
Who are you?
We are looking for you with a subject teacher degree in Spanish and qualification to teach grades 6–9.
We consider it meritorious if you have previous experience in pedagogical work and if you have qualification to teach in middle school in an additional subject besides Spanish. We also consider it meritorious if you have experience working in teams.
