Södervärnskolan is a primary school offering education for students in grades 4–9. The school currently has approximately 650 students, with 140 in grades 4–6 and the rest in grades 7–9. The school also includes an after-school center. The catchment area covers southern Visby, Eskelhem, Västerhejde, Träkumla, and Stenkumla.

Södervärnskolan actively works to lay the foundation for a positive learning climate by fostering good relationships so that students thrive and feel safe. In teaching, the starting point is the individual student's needs and abilities, which are developed within a group setting, resulting in strong collaboration skills and social competence.

A prerequisite for student learning is that teachers can identify the next steps in the development process. This gives students a goal to strive for and clarity on how to reach it. Students should leave school as knowledge-seeking and critically analytical individuals with good self-confidence, humanistic values, and engagement.

Students have their own computers as digital work tools. The school employs a librarian and social pedagogues to provide additional support and security for students. A school counselor and school nurse are present at the school daily. The school has a well-developed organization for special support, driven by special needs pedagogues and special education teachers.

Södervärnskolan has a good sports hall and access to its own rooms for home economics and crafts. The school features its own cooking kitchen serving excellent meals, as well as a school library with a wide selection of literature.

Your Responsibilities

You will join a team of colleagues at the lower secondary level who teach in special education groups and provide special support in mathematics. You will be part of the school's special support system, teaching mathematics both individually in the school's studio and in whole-class settings.

The position is a permanent employment with holiday service.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with qualifications in mathematics for grades 7–9 and wish to join our competent team at the lower secondary level. Qualifications to teach grades 4–6 are also a plus.

We seek someone with experience working systematically with mathematics in primary school, who has good collaboration skills and a salutogenic approach.
